Guess what? One of our local Bellingham donors has a Taylor Swift connection.

Meet Professor Jackie Caplan-Auerbach from Western Washington University’s Seismology Department. She made international headlines when she identified the “Swift Quake”—a 2.3 earthquake during Taylor’s sold-out concert at Seattle’s Lumen Field last summer.

Professor Caplan-Auerbach is not only a WWU seismologist who makes science unique and engaging; she’s also a long-time Bloodworks donor who saves lives.

Watch Professor Caplan-Auerbach talk about personal connection to blood donation on YouTube.
