Tsung-Lin Tsai, MD, PhD
Professional Bio
Dr. Tsung-Lin Tsai is a distinguished physician and researcher in pathology and transfusion medicine. He earned his MD from National Taiwan University and a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Tsai completed his residency in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology at UC Irvine Medical Center and a fellowship in Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine at the NIH Clinical Center.
Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington and the Medical & Laboratory Director of the Cell Therapy Lab at Bloodworks Northwest. He also serves as a staff physician at several Seattle medical centers.
Dr. Tsai has received numerous awards, including the New Investigator Recognition Award from the Orthopedic Research Society (2015), the Best Education Practice Poster Award from the American Society of Clinical Pathology (2020), and the AABB Future Leadership Transfusion Medicine Fellow Scholarship Award from the Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (2022). His research focuses on cellular therapy, transfusion medicine, and health equity for international medical graduates. He is board-certified in Clinical Pathology and Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine and is active in professional organizations like the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
