Bloodworks Northwest Launches Music’s In Our Blood Campaign to Save Lives Through The Power of Music

The music-centric campaign is back for the fourth year with more partnerships, new collaborations, and a whole lot of music love to inform, inspire, and call the community to action to donate blood

Bloodworks Northwest, the primary blood supplier to hospitals in the Pacific Northwest, announces the launch of Music’s In Our Blood campaign, the fourth year of the annual dynamic initiative combining the universal power of music with the critical need for blood donations through partnerships, giveaways, and local artist testimonials. The campaign kicks off with a special event at the Seattle Olympic Sculpture Park, featuring performances by La Fonda and DJ KPX of The Residency, in partnership with Sonic Guild and Seattle Art Museum (SAM) for the Summer at SAM concert series.

The campaign, which runs through December 31, boasts an impressive roster of community partnerships with big names in the music industry and various businesses who are passionate about the campaign’s message. These artists and organizations are joining forces for one cause: to increase blood donation appointments across Western Washington and Oregon. Among these partners are KEXP, Sonic Guild, The Residency, Intentionalist, local Seattle venues, and incredible artists.

Summer isn’t just about concerts and fun. It’s also the “100 Deadliest Days”—the period between Memorial Day and Labor Day when car crashes spike, and blood supplies drop dramatically. Bloodworks Northwest aims to combat this critical need by bringing together music and the gift of blood donation to reach the younger generation, diversify its audience, and drive awareness about the importance of blood donation.

“Just as donating blood can save lives physically, music has the profound ability to heal and rejuvenate the mind and spirit,” said Sonic Guild Executive Director Ben London. “Music’s In Our Blood seeks to do both and positively impact the Pacific Northwest. Sonic Guild is a proud partner in this initiative for a third year, continuing to engage musicians and harness their ability to build awareness and encourage ongoing blood donations that feed our regional blood supply and keep our community healthy.”

Music’s In Our Blood 2024 is brimming with exciting events and initiatives from now through the end of the year. Stay tuned for campaign announcements and book your appointment to give blood.
